5 Summer Cocktails to Impress Your Friends

Have you ever been invited to a party or hang out with friends and the host of the party blows your expectations out of the water? You get inspired to impress your friends and….by the time you get home you lose all motivation and don’t take the time to do it. It’s time to start your own great party. These are my five favorite summertime cocktails to exceed expectations.

  • Whiskey Sour. I know what you are thinking, everyone knows how to make a whiskey sour. While you are mostly right put a little spin on this old time classic and your friends will be shocked. Lucky for you it’s not hard to make either. Start with your favorite whiskey do one part whiskey and pour it into your glass, add lemonade (or lemon juice and sugar) to your desired sweetness. Next, (here is where it gets fun) get your cocktail shaker, add ice, pour your whiskey and lemonade in that, add an egg white (which makes the drink frothy), shake it up really good and serve with a lemon garnish.

  • Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned is one of the most classic timeless cocktails ever. This is a great drink to impress the boys. It is not for people who like sweet drinks. The Old Fashioned is made with bourbon or rye, sugar cube, angostura bitters, and add ice. If you want to be extra fancy add only one big square ice cube and an orange twist garnish.

  • Moscow Mule. This you need to be prepared with the stylish mule copper mugs. Made with vodka, ginger beer, lime, and add ice until it is topped off. The Moscow Mule tastes refreshing on hot days and looks like you know your stuff.

  • Mojito. The Mojito is a staple at bars, but how many of your friends have ever made one of these for you at home? Probably, none or few. To make a Mojito you mix white rum, lime juice, cane sugar, soda, and muddled mint. Garnish with a mint leaf to be extra. The mint makes this a perfect summer drink to cool you down on a hot day.

  • Long Island Iced Tea. It is made with vodka, gin, tequila, rum, triple sec, lemon juice, and cola mixed in a tall tall glass. Yeah, that’s a lot of liquor in one drink. It’s refreshing and will get you feeling those summer days right away.
