Beer Bar in Salt Lake City is a one of kind place (especially in Utah). The bar is owned by Ty Burrell from Modern Family who lives in Salt Lake. It is a cool beer hall type feel of a place with a ton of beer choices. There are sports playing all day, and if you’re not in the mood for a beer you can walk through the door to it’s older sister Bar X. Bar X is a cocktail bar with very cool lighting, and it’s great for a date night. Back to the Beer Bar, I have been to Beer Bar about four or five times but this was the first time ordering food. Here are my thoughts on the beer and food.
I decided to get the Chicago Brat because I saw there was a pickle on it and I like pickles. It was a great choice and I was very glad that I got it. The brat was a foot-long brat and it was much thinner than a normal brat and I really liked the thinner brat. It was much more crunchy than a regular-sized brat and with everything on the Chicago brat the thinner brat is a smart choice (makes it easier to eat). The mustard was a type of spicy mustard that tied well together with the pickle and well everything. The Diced onions were perfect. Everything was great my bread broke by the end but that is expected. Highly recommend.
My wife got the B.A.F. Brat and of course, I got to try it. Hers was more basic and about four dollars cheaper, but still very good. Hers had sauerkraut, a lot of sauerkraut (a good thing of course), caramelized onions, and a regular-sized brat. Like I said a much more basic brat, but the way it was cooked and prepared makes it stand out. We shared The Scout marionberry cider by Incline brewery which is my wife’s favorite. If you like hard ciders then we really suggest The Scout. The fries complemented the meal very well, my wife and I shared a small.
The last beer we got was a hefeweizen and was really good as well. You can’t go wrong with what beer you get, just check the price before ordering or you might not realize you bought a $50 beer. If you don’t know what to get the bartenders have great suggestions. I highly recommend the Beer Bar and I can’t wait to try more of their delicious food options. I recently read that their burger is in the top 100 burgers in the nation, so I know what I am trying next trip to Salt Lake City.
