- Strap Tank Brewery is definitely my favorite restaurant in the provo area. The brewery has the coolest atmosphere out of any restaurant. It is based off of the 1907 Strap Tank Model 2037. Which is known as the best Strap Tank model ever made. The owner Rick Salisbury (we’re not related that I know of… sadly) decided to build a great place in Springville Utah with fresh made brews, great food, and an amazing Harley Davidson Motorcycle themed restaurant. A one of a kind. When my friends ask where should we go eat I almost alway say, “Let’s go to Strap Tank”. There is usually no complaining about the decision unless we don’t want to spend as much (because we’re college students). If you walk across the parking lot Rick Salisbury also built a Legends Motorcycle Museum. At the museum you will find all kinds of old school motorcycles.
Did I mention this is the only Brewery in Utah County? No wander it’s on the top of my list. The brews are very tasty. Sometimes during a big football game I will go to Strap Tank Brewery to either watch the game at the bar or pick up a growler to go. I would say my favorite brew there is the Strap Tank IPA, it comes in a bottle and is 7% ABV. The other brews on tap are all 4% due to Utah laws. Speaking of Utah laws don’t ever forget your ID because you will not be able to be served alcohol. I once saw a guy that was clearly over forty years old and they couldn’t serve him alcohol. It’s not Strap Tanks fault the fines they could get is not worth it. Another, law to mention is that you have to order food if you are going to drink, just a warning if you are from out of town. I don’t find it a bad thing to have to order food here though. I suggest the tacos, fish and chips, or a burger. You can order the tacos with three different kinds of meat. I usually get the steak tacos. I haven’t ordered something bad from the menu. Warning if you take your friends to Sunday brunch it is a buffet style and it’s expensive.
- Bombay House was not a hard choice. It has great food, drinks, and not a bad price. Their naan bread is amazing and you better get some. I suggest getting something you and your date or whoever you go with get a two main dishes to share with a thing of rice and some naan bread. I enjoy going here for special occasions and getting some wine. The inside is very nice as well with some nice dim mood lighting. So, if you like Indian food I highly suggest Bombay house. Make sure to make a reservation because it is usually poppin.
- The Tree Room at Sundance Mountain Resort is a very high end amazing restaurant. This would probably be number one on the list if I could afford it more often. I have only been twice, both times were amazing. Here is a quote from the Sundance website, “The Tree Room has received the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Rating, Utah’s Best of State award for fine dining, the overall Best of State Statue (B.O.S.S.) and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence”. As you can see from this it is highly rated. I agree with these for a couple reasons. First, the location is amazing if you have ever been to Sundance the views are great and there are loads of things to do. Secondly, it’s exactly what you expect from a high end, very expensive restaurant. Everything is perfect. Just remember to dress up and no kids are aloud. They don’t say that on their website and my brother brought his kid the first time. They let him in as long as he was quiet. Just a heads up. The food is amazing and it’s a four course amazing experience. I suggest it for anniversaries or very special moments.
