Peace On Earth – Provo, Utah

Peace On Earth Coffee

A couple of years ago my wife and I lived at Liberty Center in Provo, Utah. It was a great fun place to live because it was right on Provo’s Center Street, where there are a lot of dining options, events, and two of Provo’s few bars. While we were living at this apartment complex, we got an email asking for resident’s opinions on what they wanted below the apartment complex. My wife and I both put coffee shop and I think our other choice (you got two votes) was a bakery/deli. Fast forward about six months from then and Peace On Earth was created. There are not a ton of coffee shops in Provo if you don’t know. The ones that were in Provo weren’t in the best locations or weren’t the most inviting coffee shops. The hype for this coffee shop was unreal. We were scared that it would go out of business because a lot of places do around center street. To our delight the hype for Peace On Earth never never went away. In fact I am writing this blog post at Peace on Earth right now and it is hoppin.

Many places are closed on Sunday on Center Street in Provo and it is very nice to be able to have a place that is close that is open. Peace On Earth isn’t just convenient and in a good location though. They have great coffee, great food, and awesome beer, wine, and cocktail list. You heard me right, they have an alcohol license. Like I said above Provo has very few options if you want to go out and find a drink. Peace On Earth has made it nice to mix it up. I don’t always want to go to the dive bar down the street. Sometimes you want something more relaxing. A couple of weekends ago my wife and I were really tired but still wanted to get out of the house before binge watching Stranger Things at home. So, we went out to Peace On Earth. We grabbed a cute wooden Connect Four game from their lounge area and talked. All while we were sipping on an Arnold Palmer Vodka (if you don’t know Arnold Palmer is the name of a drink that is half lemonade and half tea). This was all served in a hipster mason jar. It was a great time and without doing a lot on our Saturday night.

If you can’t tell I really like Peace On Earth. Besides great coffee/cocktails and a cool ambiance, I love that I can bring my dog Bruce in. Yep, they are dog friendly. They offer free dog treats and even do puppuccinos. Sometimes when we have been gone for a while on a Friday night and we want to still have a nightlife we will invite friends and go to Peace On Earth while not having to leave the dog home. Of course I think your dog should be well trained or at least calm to go in. It adds a great element to the hipster, environmentally friendly vibe to the shop. Peace On Earth also does events like, open mic night for poems, karaoke, and live performances from small local artists. I highly recommend Peace On Earth in Provo. Please check it out and let me know what you think of it in the comments.
